Grape Expectations

I am refreshed, rejuvenated and relaxed. Just returned from Napa, land of beautiful scenery, amazing wineries and tasty blends of some of the world's best grapes. It was my first trip there and I have to say it far exceeded my expectations. My face hurts from laughing and I surely gained a few pounds, but I have a new appreciation for the juice of the grape!
First and foremost, I did miss my munchkins while I was gone. But, this trip was a reminder that we do need our time away to recharge, spend time with good friends and be carefree, if just for a minute.
Not to mention the kids did have their own time (without me hovering) with Grandmama and Grandbob that is truly priceless.
As for the rest of the trip.....some highlights that I won't forget include tasting in the Chicken Coop, Mussels at Bouchon, lunch on the patio at Rombauer, lots and lots of cheese and Rosemary....oh sweet Rosemary. Then there's all the one-liners among friends that we will leave in Napa. Our wonderful friends, the Smiths, are to thank for a fun filled itinerary full of some of the best tasting liquid goodness I have ever had! Thank you for the memories and laughs!
