17!!

Brady hit the big 17 this July 5th! The week started out a little bumpy with a girlfriend break up and some of his friends going missing in action on July 4th (although we had a fun family friend party here). But things started looking up magically on 7/5 and have been on a positive swing since then (phew!) 

We had a nice steak dinner with Ian and Brady at Longhorn on his bday, opened gifts (tickets to Cage the Elephant among other things) and then took a group of his friends to K-1 to race the afternoon away. Followed that with a cookout for the boys and some backyard pool time and I would say it was a pretty successful entry into 17. 

At 17, he continues to be an amazing young man, with a big heart, fantastic smile, an interest in staying busy and social and a big ol' romantic side. He's smart, stays organized, has learned a lot about finances, knows a ton about sports, likes his sleep, is respectful of women, and is even keeled and pretty chill, most all of the time. He's definitely excited to be an adult, and make his own decisions but is still respectful of our requests of him as a teenager. 

I love him to the moon and am so grateful to be his mom every single day!
