Lylah turns 11~!!!!
Sweet pie turned 11! And time continues to fly.
She is such a beautiful piece of our family. She is super smart and takes her school very seriously and is having so much fun in her 5th grade year. She has a great group of girlfriends.....not exactly sure if she has a bestie as that changes every few weeks but not for any bad reason. She really just has a lot of close friends (as was evidenced when the spelling bee ended, she had not won but did very well, and she was surrounded by a group of caring friends).
She has started to care more about her hair, her clothes, her chapstick!!! and more, which is all to be expected around this age. She has curiosity about growing and changing, has started wearing a bra and wants to know what it will be like when she gets her period! we have had some great talks and are getting ready for shaving!!! (electric razor to start, for sure!). I still have scars on my shins from when I first started with a razor.
she loves to dance and continues to be very talented at it. I love watching her! and she still very much enjoys art project and crafts. She has started to enjoy riding her bike more and is a great helper in the kitchen when we come up with something to bake or make for dinner.
She loved her Roblox games and watching family movies and she continues to be a mix of sugar and spice. She doesn't like to be woken up quickly or be made to rush but she still comes downstairs in the morning, sweet as pie, when she has a chance to wake up on her own.
She loves her Charlie, most of the time, along with her brother....she loves him more than she will let on.
For her bday this year, her choice was to go to the Melting Pot for dinner. Sweet squeaks at her little heart out....meat and sauces and veggies and all of her portion of the dessert platter, loaded with chocolate. And low and behold, several hours later, she threw it all up.
Little one does have a sensitive stomach sometimes and I think it was just too rich for her.
We did some shopping for her bday as she had requested lots of gift cards. The shopping with her is always fun for both of us!
and she had a Mocktails and Canvas painting party with 9 other girlfriends which was SO much fun. they all had a great time, although Lylah was very serious about getting her painting "right". It turned out fantastic!
All in all, she reported that it was the best bday and she was over the moon to get her first phone from us.
Definitely growing up fast yet still a little girl that kinda needs me, sometimes..... :-) I will hold onto that as long as I can.
Love you Lylah Bean, always and forever
