lucky number 13!

Bubba! Happy 13th Birthday! I can't believe you are now a teenager. You are so tall now....just a few inches shorter than me. And your feet have blown past mine in the past year.
It was a crazy year to turn 13, one you are sure to never forget since it was the summer of Covid.
But we were able to still celebrate in some very fun ways with Treehouse Adventure Park with Kate, K1 Speedway with Zack and an epic sleepover with 3 of your bestie soccer friends (Tobin, Timmy and Colton), complete with pool party, wandering Grant Ranch, a movie and truth or dare :-)

we topped it all off with a dinner to remember at Shanahans Steakhouse, with the "best steak you have ever had" and a one pound sweet potato. Becoming a teenager is a special time, full of all kinds of emotions and we wanted to make sure you had the best one ever.

You continue to evolve into an amazing young man. Sure, you have had plenty of learning experiences and are still learning how to be responsible, how to be honest and clean up after yourself :-) but you are so much fun to talk to and have the best laugh. You have started riding up in the front seat of the car and that has been a game changer. we have great conversations about all kinds of things....same with our walks with Charlie.

at 13, you love to eat and your appetite has definitely picked up. You like silky, fancy underwear, snuggled with your dog, cooking shows, the Twilight series of books, time with friends, seeing family, bowls of cereal in the afternoons, weight lifting (sometimes) in the basement, listening to rap, and fancy tennis shoes.

You continue to love all kinds of sports...playing tennis against varsity players, exceling at soccer, just starting out at golf (and loving it) and playing tons of basketball in front of the house. You have made the best of a different kind of summer, having a blast at sports camp and golf camp and being a great companion on trips to Breck and Buena Vista.

 You are competitive and sometimes stubborn, slightly obsessed with Snapchat and Xbox but in general, you are a pretty chill kiddo who has such a sweet and kind side that I hope all the world gets to see.
Charlie is your bestie but you are even clicking with your sister more and more this summer. :-)
I love being your mom and are so proud that you are my son!
