First time for the kids in Hawaii and what a time they had!! We were so lucky to have not travel issues there or back (longest flight yet for the kids) and they enjoyed the upgraded business class seats (as did I!!), I loved that when we first arrived, they wanted to go straight to the ocean for sunset. I loved being away with them and watching them for hours on the boogey boards. I tried a few times myself and ended up with sand in all the wrong places :-)
We went on a short but pretty coastal hike, experienced the kids first luau, drank from a fresh coconut, drove the road to Hana, saw lots of stray cats and roosters, ate tons of good fish and pork, visited Haleakala and just relaxed. Maui is a beautiful place with a unique and peaceful culture. Not much not to love! And we were thankful for our first airplane trip in over a year due to COVID.
family time is the best time and I hope we can keep doing these adventures even when the kids are off to college and beyond.
Of all the things we saw and did, I loved seeing how much fun the kids had in the ocean more than anything....no worries, no phones, no grouchy people....just pure enjoyment. Made my heart happy!!!
