Happy Birthday Little Man!

I can't believe you are 3 years old! You seem so wise beyond your years sometimes and yet still my little baby with soft skin and sweet kisses. You rang in your 3rd birthday with a bang, literally, as I am sure you will for many years to come since your day falls on 4th of July weekend!
We had a fun fireman themed party with all of your buddies and lots of mommy and daddy's friends too. Grandmama and Brandbob and Grandma Barb and Papa were all on hand for the festivities as well and helped with everything from cooking to clean up!
It was a good time, complete with "pop its" in the driveway, a fire truck tattoo station, dinner, drinks and of course, a firetruck cake. You and your friends loved jumping off the deck into the grass (want to see my "coconut trees"?), playing with the pirate ship and best of all, watching daddy and Brian S. shoot off fireworks in the street. I am so proud of you and all that you are today. I love when your eyes nearly pop out of your head when you are excited and how you ask me if I am ok every time I have an owie. I love how you pretend you are thinking about a decision before you make it......ie: Brady, would you like some cake?? Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....yes, I will have some cake". I love how you ask "why" about absolutely everything and how you still play with my hair right before you go to bed. I love how you stay in your bed when you wake up and call out "Mommy" when you are ready to get up and I love how you clean up your dishes and toys so well. I love/hate that you are so independent now.....getting dressed, brushing teeth, getting in your car seat, etc.
I miss rocking you before bed at night, but I love the special time we have right before you go to sleep when we read, tell each other stories and sing songs. You don't need me as much as you did one year ago, but you are my little friend, and still my sweet, sweet baby boy.
