Happy Birthday Sweet Boy

I woke you up yesterday morning by singing Happy Birthday. We had your homemade banana bread (nice job by the way) with candles and more singing.
I picked you up from school early and we went to the library, just you and me. We picked out some new books (you found a pirate one and one about a peanut allergy!) and then we went to Red Robin to meet daddy and Lylah.
You were so excited to order your corn dog for dinner and you about fell out of your chair when the waitress showed up with an ice cream sundae and they all sang to you. You were sweet and shy and a little bit in shock. I loved how fascinated you were by hot fudge and how kind you were to share with all of us.
When we got home, you were so excited for your Transformers scooter and you practiced up (but not down) the hill! We opened some more presents, read some books and by the end of it all, you were exhausted.
You are such an amazing boy. At the Zoo on Friday, you told me you were having the best day ever and that you wanted to stay with me forever........oh I wish that too!
You have a sweet, shy, reserved side that has remained intact since you were a baby, yet you have your moments of pure joy, goofy laughter and yes, even trouble making. You are sensitive and sometimes timid, yet you have learned to tackle some of your fears with abandon. You are a fish in the pool and a bandit on the ski slopes and you love to run and run. You can make puzzles faster than me and you love your trucks and cars yet will play with Lylah's toys just the same. You ask lots of questions about the world around you, and you are a sponge at school every day. You want to be "old"....you ask all the time about being 16, or 25 or 60 and you have these moments of pure love and kindness that you share with your sister. She looks up to you so very much and I can see why. I look up to you too. XOXO
