and the rest of a very fast summer!!!

The back half of summer was filled with all kinds of fun, adventures, family time, travel and new experiences and learning moments for all of us.

Brady was able to experience an FC Barcelona soccer camp. So cool to have Spanish speaking coaches who were full of tradition and ceremony. Not to mention, Brady was able to learn some pretty cool things. He still seems to really enjoy soccer and did a great job playing in an early August tournament. He played well enough to earn himself a top spot on his team. he has some great friends like Tobin and Colton, Carter B and Nolan and it's been fun to watch those friendships grow, outside of school.

Sweet Lylah took some family time this summer and a break from activities which I think was good for her. Summer camps and travel kept us busy enough. She overcame some separation anxieties that she was dealing with when school ended and I am so very proud of her for working through something that was causing her worry and discomfort. She is a tough and amazing young lady!

Brady and I racked up our 3rd 5k together in less than a year. We hit the road for the Firecracker 5k on the 4th of July and had a blast. it wasn't a personal best for us necessarily but Brady sure enjoyed the hot dog and FroYo at the end :-) and I just liked being with him, being outdoors and doing something that I really enjoy with him.

and happy 11th Birthday Brady!!!! 11 years....holy cow. What a fun bday this year too... we had a celebration at Elitch's with some of Brady's closest soccer friends and then another celebration at the pool with his school friends. Elitch's was pretty amazing in that he rode tons of rides and some that he had never been on before. I love seeing Brady grow up into such an amazing young man. Sweet and kind and a great big brother to his sister and doggie!

And Lylah is my little Limbo queen. Used to be something I loved to do and she rocks it at the 4th of July pool party every year. She's also my little manicure best buddy. I love that we go do this together some times and pick our favorite colors and relax a bit together.

the best part of this summer, in my opinion, was the adventure and travel that we fit in. We started in Colorado with the Paint Mines...I say it every year, but I love exploring this beautiful state with my family. and then the larger family fun kicked in...
The family reunion trip to Florida was simply the best. We spent one week with my parents and my brother and the cousins, celebrating my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and their 70th birthdays.
What a week! Jet skiing, pontoon boat, beach time, pool time, runs on the beach streets, ice cream, games, grilled dinners and the ultimate grand finale production by all of the cousins. family time is the best time and this trip proved it.

Right after that, I hit the mountains with some of my close girlfriends for our annual mountain getaway. I LOVE to dance and this is my once a year chance to shake my booty and have some fun with the ladies, get a massage, and just be silly girls. It's something I look forward to every year!

After that, I kept my bags pretty well packed we headed to Buena Vista. The kids had been down there for the week with my parents having a blast and then Jon and I met up with them for some very cool adventures. We went to the Colorado Sand Dunes for the first time. Such an amazing experience and cannot believe I had not been there before. After a few hours sand sledding and boarding, we wiped off the loads of sand and headed to the Gator and Reptile farm. OMG is all I can say! This place was amazing, and odd and did I say...amazing!
hundreds of gators and other creatures in what felt like a Louisiana or Florida setting. We even got to hold a baby alligator! definitely worth a stop, at least one time!

our adventures continued the very next weekend with a trip to Austin for Chandler's wedding. This was such a great experience because the kids were able to experience their very first traditional wedding while spending quick yet super quality time with the family. Lots of dancing, laughter, fancy clothes, and little bits of family drama sprinkled in for fun!
I am so grateful for all of the time we had together this summer, both here in Colorado and on our adventures out of state. It was a summer I won't soon (or ever forget!)
XOXO my family!!!!
