The summer started with some fun with the grandparents (both Lyle and Dobson sides!)
The two week of grandparent time included walks to sweet tomatoes, movies, playing tennis, cooking up a storm with Grandmama...and that was just the Lyle's.
The next week included trips to the aquarium, Morrison museum, Heritage square and time with friends. I am not sure who was more exhausted those two weeks of fun!
We have been so proud of the kids for all of their accomplishments lately. Lylah had her latest dance recital, where she performed a record four dances. She is so brave and so talented, beautiful moves, and full of grace> she is taking a summer break from dancing but would love to see her get back into it as she is SO GOOD!
Brady finished out the school year with his band concert. So cool to see how far he has come since the first concert at the beginning of the year.
He was asked to stand and be recognized for being one of just a few kids to get their black belts in the group. He really seems to have a good sense for music and instruments.
And then there was Lylah's play!
Lylah was Captain Hook in her Kids Stage camp play.She was assigned more lines than she ever has had before and I was proud of her for going after a part that challenged her a bit. She was by far the most confident, well spoken actress in the production and nailed all of her lines. We practiced every day, day and night for 5 days and it paid off!
And now we have Chef Brady in the house!
Brady has found a new passion. He took Iron Chef cooking this week at camp and said it was the best camp he has EVER done! he will be cooking his new lemon rosemary chicken for us this week and learned how to make a variety of apps, entrees and desserts. each day he was assigned one ingredient that had to be used and then they could get creative with the rest. So fun!
many more fun adventures to write about ahead this summer, but we are off to a fantastic Dobson start!
