The State "Bee"

So in an earlier Post I mentioned that Brady had qualified for the State Spelling Bee. What an experience!! I am so happy that he had the opportunity to compete against over 250 kids. He was super nervous that morning driving down for the big event. Lylah came with us to show support and we dropped him off for his written test and went to have some Starbucks. Tick Tock...that was nerve wracking.

After that test, we had a lunch break where we were joined by Grandma Barb and Papa who also came to show their support. Hopefully brady knew how proud we all were that he had made it this far.

When they announced the Top 30, Brady's name was not on the list. It didn't matter to us at all. we were so proud of him for making it this far, but he was crushed and so we were disappointed for him. He really wanted it! But I think once the news settled in, and he learned the girl that won last year, won it again this year, he felt a bit better. Not to mention that 90% of the winners were 7th and 8th graders!!!!

Just the memory of doing this....the fact that he beat out so many other kids to even make it there....is something to celebrate and be so super proud of!! I know we all were!
