Pat

this was a new experience as a family. My former boss and friend from 9NEWS, who I had known for almost 20 years, passed away from a brain tumor just after my birthday. The kids had met her when we went to visit her at her house while she was ill and I had been to see her many, many times while she was sick, up until the day before she passed.
Her daughter works for me....has for the past 4 years so it made her passing that much harder.
I was honored to be asked to speak at the funeral and I was nervous that I would let her family down, but in hindsight, I was glad that I was able to share a bit more about Pat and be a part of  her celebration of life.. This was a very sad time and even Lylah cried with me when we heard that Pat had passed. In fact, both kids were so supportive and kind through this time....it made a huge difference to me!
