Washington DC

This was a trip for the memory book for sure! We had never been to visit Jon's dad before in DC/Maryland but this was the perfect year to go based on the kids ages and all that they have learned in school so far.
I am so glad we did this trip. It was so fun to have this experience with the kids and see them express so much interest in  our history. It's amazing how on trips like these, they get along so well!
We squeezed just the right amount of things into the trip with highlights being:
Air & Space (saw the Space Shuttle) at Dulles, trip into Annapolis, visit to the Mall (Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, American History Museum (one of my faves), Arlington Cemetery, yummy seafood dinner, and a great trip to Mt. Vernon.
so many great things to do. and we enjoyed the time with Grandpa Bill and Kate....great dinner, fun with the dogs, neighborhood walk, etc.

Definitely a great family experience and one that I really enjoyed!
