I had a great bday this year! We went out for sushi over the weekend (Monday birthday) and then Jon made PHO on Sunday and surprised me with FOUR bday cakes!!! He had the idea to have each of us decorate a cake as a bday related activity. Such fun and some really unique and yummy cakes came out of it. I had yellow cake and frosting for days!!!!
Birthdays are definitely different as you get older but I love that they are still your special day and if nothing else, a great excuse to not cook for a night and not do dishes.
I feel pretty dang lucky to turn 48 and have the family and the life that I do!
